Sharepoint Foundation Updates Failing

Since September, I haven't been able to get the Sharepoint Foundation updates installed on our server. The server version is 2012 R2, and the Sharepoint version is 2013 (15.0.4569.1506).

All other Microsoft updates have been installing without issue.

Failed updates have included:

KB5001992

KB5002024

KB5002071

KB5002127

KB5002129

The error codes have been:

800706BE

80070641

80240020

My process for installing updates has always been the same, close all running programs, open Windows Updates, check for updates, and install, reboot, repeat. Antivirus software is not conflicting, I have already uninstalled and confirmed the updates are still failing. I cannot reinstall Sharepoint because it's pre-packaged with a piece of 3rd party software that we use.

Can someone help? Is there a process that needs to be run through in order to install these Security updates?

Thanks in advance.

@Steve Bailey Did you install SharePoint updates from Windows updates previously?

As best practices, we suggest you install SharePoint updates via downloading these updates and installing manually instead of Windows updates because deploying SharePoint updates via Windows updates maybe cause some unknown issues.

The following article lists SharePoint 2013 Foundation updates history, you can download updates as your need.

    Hi @Steve Bailey ,

This article is an overview about how to Install a software update for SharePoint Server. From this article before you install an update, you have to verify that the following conditions are satisfied:

1.All front-end web servers are load balanced together and are in rotation with the load balancer.

2.All farm servers are operating properly. For Search, you can view server status by using the Microsoft PowerShell cmdlet Get-SPEnterpriseSearchStatus or by going to Central Administration > Manage Service Applications > Search_service_application_name.

3.All databases are active and operating properly.
