Hello,
I am running windows server 2019 on a dell T310 with limited RAM (6G).

I am logged on as the Administrator on the machine and followed the quite trivial steps to add VPN functionality to my server using the server manager dashboard.

(Enable Remote Access role / enable DirectAcces and VPN (RAS) / IIS default settings to support the role / ...)

The server starts installing and during the installation it stops with the error as per the title of this post.

Any hints to solve the issue are most welcome.

I looked at the event viewer:

CbsPackageServicingFailure2 Event ID1001
WindowsWcpOtherFailure3 Event ID1001.

Event viewer detials added below:

Best regards,
Johi.

So I could assume that the same build is able to repair (please correct me if I am wrong).

Sorry, but a repair install cannot be done using evaluation media. As to other sources the volume center or via VS subscription are possible.

    Image appears to be somehow broken. You can try;

    • dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    • sfc /scannow
    • a repair install by running setup.exe from the root of install media
    • or time may be better spent by standing up a new one, patch fully, reinstall RRAS role.

You cannot use an evaluation build for a repair install and that's all there is available at least publicly.

I remember the machine was installed with an evaluation build, and then upgraded with a full license.

So I could assume that the same build is able to repair (please correct me if I am wrong).

Can you be so kind to provide background and direction how to get the ISO image.

Publicly or not, MS must be able to provide a solution for this trivial topic.
