SQL Server Shutdown for Cluster server

Hello Team,

Due to Maintenance activity i need to bring the SQL Server DB down.All 2 server are in cluster.

Whether I need to make all the DB down from the clusters server or if i make DB down from the one of the server is it fine. please advise.

    Hi @Rohit Kulkarni ,

    Could you please descript your question more clearly? Take database offline or take SQL server instance down? This is a SQL server failover cluster instance environment or SQL server AG environment?

    If you want to take SQL server instance down of SQL FCI, you need to shut down all SQL server instance in SQL FCI.

    If you want to take SQL DB offline of SQL AG, you need to remove this DB from SQL AG then take that database offline on all AG replicas, or you will get the error message like below.
