    Hi RommelOrtilla,

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community Forum.

To set NTFS permissions for folders on your file server, follow these steps:

    1. Navigate to the Folder: Locate the folder for which you want to set NTFS permissions.
    2. Right-click on the Folder: Right-click on the folder and select "Properties" from the context menu.
    3. Go to the Security Tab: In the Properties window, navigate to the "Security" tab.
    4. Click on Edit: Click on the "Edit" button. You may need administrative privileges to do this.
    5. Set Permissions: In the Permissions window, you'll see a list of users and groups with permissions set for the folder. To add or modify permissions:
      • Click "Add" to add a new user or group.
      • Select the user or group you want to set permissions for.
      • Choose the type of permission you want to assign (e.g., Full Control, Modify, Read & Execute, List Folder Contents, Read, Write).
      • Click "Apply" to save the changes.
    6. Advanced Permissions (Optional): If you need more granular control over permissions, you can click on the "Advanced" button to access advanced permissions settings. Here, you can add specific permissions for individual users or groups, set inheritance options, and configure special permissions.
    7. Apply Changes: After setting the desired permissions, click "OK" to close the Permissions window, then click "OK" again to close the Properties window.
    8. Verify Permissions: It's a good practice to verify that the permissions have been set correctly by attempting to access the folder with different user accounts and ensuring that the appropriate level of access is granted.

By following these steps, you can effectively set NTFS permissions for folders on your file server, allowing strict access control to your files and directories.

    Best regards

    Neuvi Jiang
