    Is this a new issue? Do you have the microsoft authenticator app installed and configured?

    @Andreas Folmer
    Thank you for your post!

    When it comes to the Microsoft Authenticator app, if you enabled the Backup and Recovery feature prior to resetting your phone, you should be able to recover your account credentials using the recovery account/email listed. You have to first make sure that the account you're recovering doesn't exist in the Microsoft Authenticator app. Since you can't login to the Authenticator App, you can try:

    • To remove the app from a device using a personal Microsoft account. Go to the two-step verification area of your Account Security page and choose to turn off verification for your old device.
    • To remove the app from a device using a work or school Microsoft account. Go to the two-step verification area of either your MyApps page or your organization's custom portal to turn off verification for your old device.

    If you're still having issues:
    Are you able to reach out to your school admin to reset your authentication methods?
    Can you use any other sign-in option to authenticate? For example, using a registered phone number or email?

    If you're completely locked out of your account and can't get an Admin to reset your credentials, you'll have to reach out to our Azure Data Protection team for further assistance - (866-807-5850).

    If you have any other questions, please let me know.
    Thank you for your time and patience throughout this issue.
