MySQL - The server is currently in starting state. Please wait for the operation to complete.

I stopped my MySQL database on Azure. Now it won't start. It's been hours. It times out and I try again and nothing.

I've seen a post on how to restart via command line, but how exactly do I do that?

OK, I have run the command

az mysql flexible-server start --name dbName --resource-group MyResource

in the CLI and I am getting

Running ...

For about 20 minutes.

Could someone from MS please assist? This is quite urgent.

If I run the stop cli command I get

(OperationNotAllowedForNonSucceededServer) Cannot do operation 'Stop', since server 'XXXXXX' is busy with other operations in 'Stopped' state.

Sorry to hear that you are facing an issue in restarting the server from the portal as well as from CLI, can you please provide a little more information by sharing the error screenshot and for which region you are facing this issue, are you still facing the same issue?
