On-prem server on local domain with VMs joined to Azure, but I cannot RDP to the VMs. For testing purposes, I joined one of the VMs to local domain, and I was able to connect as expected, but I cannot leave on local domain. VMs are running Windows 11. Do I need special config to RDP to VMs? Appreciate any help with this issue.

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft QnA. Happy to answer your question. I understand that you are unable to RDP to the VMs, but I would need a few more details to understand the issue better.

Are you able to successfully RDP to the Azure VMs with local account credentials, or is the RDP issue occurring in both cases, with local account as well as domain account?

If RDP fails with only domain account credentials, then it might be an issue with the Windows AD setup.

Could you specify some more details about setup? Does your setup include on-premises AD extended to Azure IaaS?

Or, do you have a hybrid Azure AD setup?

Could you please specify what are the RDP errors you are getting when you are trying to RDP to the VM using domain account, as well as using local account. Please provide screenshot if possible.
