Hello All,
Can we use the new azure ad connect cloud sync instead of the classic azure ad connect to an azure virtual desktop installation?
I need to sync multiple disconnected forests to an azure ad tenant and implement an azure virtual desktop for different companies.
As far as I know the new cloud sync is my only solution for this kind of identity sync but I do not know If I can use it also to build the azure virtual desktop.

Your query related to Azure Virtual Desktop is not quite clear, what I understood is " whether users synced using Azure AD connect Cloud sync" to Azure AD can login to Azure Virtual desktop using the same credentials or not which are synced to Azure AD --- correct me if i am wrong here.
Using the same credentials which are being used in on On-Premise AD, users can login to AVD if they have been synced to Azure AD using Azure AD connect cloud sync ( supports Password Hash Sync Only for now) . Refer to this article https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-desktop/authentication which refers to the authentication types supported by AVD, one of the authentication AVD supports is Hybrid Authentication.

I need to know if azure ad connect cloud sync supports also avd and not only the classic azure ad connect.
My question is not about if the credentials are the same, I am sure they are.
My question is for hybrid identities, all microsoft links, included yours, say about classic azure ad connect and not azure ad connect cloud sync.
Because azure ad connect cloud sync does not support hybrid configurations.
So the problem is not about the password hash sync.

Reviewed the Azure Virtual Desktop ( AVD ) prerequisites for implementation, unfortunately Azure AD Connect Cloud Sync won’t help in implementing AVD as it has no support towards devices yet.
