I have a home server setup I'm testing out and have run into an odd situation with iTunes and iPhones. This is very much a test server I'm using for driver testing and feature changes, etc - just learning the 2022 OS first hand. I have destroyed it and rebuilt it about six times now for various purposes and tests. Recently, I installed iTunes and other apple services and drivers without any errors - but when I plug in an iPhone, I do not get the "Trust Computer" prompt like I do with every other windows OS. This is a blank iPhone, no settings - I have erased it and all settings to see if I can get the OS to detect the iPhone and I cannot. The server see's the device, says it is setting up the drivers for it - says it was installed correctly and on the phone I get a prompt to "Allow" access to my photos on the phone... but I do not get the "Trust" prompt for the computer to see the ENTIRE phone.
Without the Trust prompt I am unable to backup the iPhone with iTunes, or use the phone for programming, etc... How do I get Server 2022 to allow full USB access to the iPhone? It almost seems as if it's behaving as a limited USB data access mode or something and perhaps something changed in the default protection of Server 2022 which disables full USB access for possible infections or malware spreading? I don't know - but that's why I'm here - to find out how to get full USB access to the iOS devices on Server 2022. Anyone seen this before?
I just reinstalled windows last night thinking that perhaps some previous tests and odd drivers would have corrupted something with the iTunes default drivers or such - so it's a fresh version of windows with only Chrome installed. I can wipe it again if for some reason it is Chrome that is doing this :)

That's a great point - I will reach out. I do not see any reason for a difference or errors with all the apple programs installing.... I was just curious if (due to all the USB ransomware attacks) if MS had secretly implemented some sort of USB data protection which might be interfering with something like "root access" of a phone, or other devices. And if that's the case - what other problems I might run into down the road with other usb devices (hard drives for backups, printers, even more antiquated technology, etc.)

None that I'm aware of. You may also want to confirm here and with manufacturer that the hardware supports windows server 2022.

Is that site down right now? I cannot seem to access it?
Nope, also check the server manufacturer's site for the latest info.
