.cab-files + folders in system32\spool keep coming and slowing performance down

Hello, we are facing a strange behaviour:

From one day on, dozends of PCs are slowed down by .cab files plus {} - Folders, that are being created and deleted again and again under c:\windows\system32\spool. We use a print server that serves 40-50 printers to users. We deactivated the printer distribution by GPO already, but the problem persists, the print server is still active, only GPO - distribution is deactivated. Strange enough, not all computers receiving a printer from the server are affected.
I am looking for the reason for this phenomenon as well as a solution to remediate it. In a first action we installed SSD-disks instead of the very slow 2.5'' -HDDs. This helped a lot, but there are other PCs affected that have a good hardware (SSD) already.
We had that behaviour in December 2021 already and could update a kyocera kx-Driver on the print server and the problem was gone. But it reappeared in January.

Any advice is highly appreciated.
