WES09 HORM resume succeeds first time and then fails

Hi,

I have a WES09 image with EWF enabled and HORM enabled. I hibernate the system and it boots and restores with no problems. However, the second time I boot (even after a clean shutdown) I see the following message.

The last attempt to restart the system from its previous location failed. Attempt to restart again?

  • Delete restoration data and proceed to system boot menu
  • Continue with system restart

If I choose 'continue with system restart' the system boots perfectly.

Any ideas on what might cause this, or how to investigate it?

Nothing shows up in event viewer.

Thanks,

Jeff.

I believe I solved my own problem.

I had failed to set the 'Enable Hibernate-Once-Resume-Many Mode (HORM)' flag in the Enhanced Write Filter' component. I had not looked at the settings for that component before.

    So, entirely user error!
