Excel in not running

Question

Hello
Recently, i received from my college the Office 265. But Excel just doesn't open anymore. I click in the program, he starts to open, but stops in the small box, just after open the little box that say "opening".
What should i do?

Have you rebooted? Also check Task Manager\Processes to see if it is running. May need to kill it then try again. Otherwise try repairing or reinstalling office.

Hi Samuel,

Please try the following steps to have a look.

1. Go to C:\Program Files or Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16 > Right click EXCEL.EXE > run as administrator first to check this issue.
2. Right click on any blank space on desktop > Create a new Microsoft Excel Worksheet > Open it to check whether the issue could be reproduced.
3. Enter “excel /safe” in Run dialog to run Excel in safe mode. Safe mode lets you start Excel without encountering certain startup programs.
   When Excel loads smoothly in safe mode, you may go to File > Options > Add-ins > Manage, Excel add-ins and COM add-ins > Go > Clear the check boxes for any enabled COM add-ins, select OK.
   Besides, go to C:\Users\<User Name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART , C:\Program Files or Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office16\XLStart, move the subfolders and files to other location.
4. When the Excel could not start correctly, please do Online Repair for Microsoft 365 in Control Panel.
