visio issue

Hi..

I have a drawing that has picked up an issue... when I originally created it, I could make changes and save them without any issues, but now for some reason whenever I try to alter and save any changes to the file, it shuts down Visio and no changes are saved. I've tried making a copy and saving with a new name, but it makes no difference. If I save as a new name, It still crashes and doesn't create a new copy.

This problem is exclusive to this one drawing. other drawings I tested seem to be fine.

any Ideas... It's getting very frustrating.... Please assist

    Does this file have the extension vsdx? Does it contain embedded OLE objects like Excel spreadsheets?

    Hi @Ian Gentleman ,
    Did this problem appear in all visio files or specific file?
    What kind of file format did you use?
    Did you install any add-ins recently?
    Try to open file in safe mode and press Win + R, type "visio /safe" in the blank box, press Enter. If it works fine in safe mode, please check the add-ins in your visio and disable them.

    Save as the visio file as another file format and check if you can work with the new file format, if yes, try to reset file associations or repair Visio.

    HI all...

    Tried various suggestions and none seemed to work, so I was beginning to get really frustrated.

    But somehow today everything just started working correctly again. nOt sure if one of the things I tried did the trick.. It wasn't working on Friday, but today its working.

    I can open visio and access the other tabs but my issue is just with tabs that have an embedded excel spreadsheet, soon as i try to switch to that tab, Visio closes.
