Hi,

I have an E2K13 Hybrid environment and one user want to send an email in a different charset from the standard "iso-8859-1", in Remote Domain. The messages go thru an Antispam/SMTP Gatway to Internet.

I need only one user sends emails with another charset, Arabic for instance.

I tried to change in MS Outlook but with no success.

Do you know any other way to change charset other than change the Remote Domain?

Is it possible the Antispam can affecting the charset´s message?

Thank you.

Is the user mailbox on Exchange 2013, or Exchange Online?
What did you set from Outlook? Did you set encoding for outgoing messages at File > Options > Advanced > International options?

By default, Outlook is set to automatically select encoding. If you write the message with Arabic, the message should be displayed properly.
Does the user get any NDR message when send message with Arabic? Please provide more details about the issue phenomenon. You also can post the related screenshot here, and don't forget to cover your personal information.

Based on my knowledge, the supported methods to configure message character set are using Outlook or remote domain. For your reference: Message encoding options. If you are using any third-party Antispam software, you also can contact the vendor for any relevant and available features.

    Hi Lydia,

I tested mailboxes on EXO and in On Prem, I used this site to test (http://www.mimastech.com/charset-detector-free-online-text-files-charset-detector/) the encoding saving message in TXT format and the result was "us-ascii".

    From EXO to mailbox:
    us-ascii

In Outlook from both environment is ser as your figure.
In E2K13 the Remote domain is ISO.

Do you know a way to check the encoding message?

    Thank you.
