Nothing would happen on the DHCP server until the lease time is up, then the address is returned to pool and client would get an address from pool.

Hi,
We're upgrading our IPAM infrastructure (Nokia QIP). It currently provides DHCP and DNS to our estate. We have several thousand clients and servers. Most of the computers are Windows 10 clients and Windows 2012 or newer servers. However, we do have some Windows clients which are as old as NT4. The vast majority of our servers are configured with static IPs.
Can someone advise how windows clients behave with DHCP leases and hibernation? After a power sleep, will the client attempt to pick up the same IP as before?
Thanks
Pete

Ah, so, from the client perspective, it'll pick up the same IP address until the lease expires?
