How to add Teams private channel to Call Queue?

I'm looking to include a private Teams channel in Call Answering.

Any help would be appreciated.

I tried with PowerShell but it seems that the Channel ID is rejected.

I am in the education sector and I've asked a MS Teams Engineer about this 6 months ago. He told me that was not in the pipeline due to how the product is engineer. I told him it was a crappy design and useless to the education field. If only members in a private channel can get the voicemail, then all is well. If all members of a Team can get the same voicemail because the channel is public, then its usueless because of security. We've had to build out individual Teams just so we can do 1 channel. It's to much overhead so we only do that when absoultley needed.

We have the same need. the control of user In a queue needs to be more granular than an entire team. we do not want to have a huge proliferation of teams just to have different memberships.

for example we may have a team for a department. That department may have call queues for let's say accounting, accounts payable, customer service. We want one team for the department and we want to separate the sub departments for users calls and voicemail

As far as I know, I am afraid at present it's not feasible to add private channels to the call queues.

Below is a similar suggestion I found in the dedicated feedback portal for Microsoft Teams and I've voted it. You can also add your vote or comment there to help make the idea noticed and considered by the product team.

Another short-sighted feature from Microsoft. I'm beginning to feel like Teams Phone was a mistake, and we're only just beginning.
