The windows 2016 server on a cloud platform says incorrect password even after entering the correct password. The system allowed a couple of times to login with the new password. Since it was not allowing with RDP (remote access), we restarted the server. On restarting and trying to login, Incorrect password error is thrown. I tried from our keyboard, the virtual keyboard and so on but the problem cease to exist. Since this is on the cloud server, whatever we have to do we have to do remotely which makes it even more difficult. Need all of your expert advice to find a fix to this issue.

Ps: There was a security update on windows 2016 from MS which we also updated and restarted the server. Restarted the server for 3+ times to see if the problem goes off but in vain.

Thanks for the response. I did contact the cloud server server team for the same issue. However, since it is a dedicated server, they just washed of their hands of personal help but they did direct me to some articles to reset the password of the server. Following these instructions, I was able to reset the password and all is well now. However, this is a very strange issue. Strange behavior is that it allowed be twice but not after that, so my password should have been correct. Anyways, I have one more trouble with Remote Desktop. Even with correct password entered in RDP, it still comes up with "An Internal Error has occurred". I need to remove credentials, login to the cloud server from KVM console on IONOS and try the Remote Desktop, it works....No idea what is going on here. Any light thrown on this would help me figure out the problem we are facing. Thanks again for your time and knowledge on this.
