Hello everyone,
I used to connect to my windows server 2019 machine in my workplace using remote desktop from home, suddenly I'm unable to connect with this message "Error code: 0x904 Extended error code: 0x7"
When I tried to connect with RDP from inside my work network, I was able to connect normally, and when I tried to ping my maching from home a reply was recieved normally, and finally it is not a firewall issue because I have disabled it but still it did not work.
Any help is appreciated.

    Hello

The main reson for error 0x904 it is an unstable network connection (not enough bandwidth, packages lost, encryption cyphers...)

I would suggest the next course of action:

    • Check your antivirus or firewall, bth on source and destination and allow RDP.EXE as exception.
    • Try accessing through IP rather than hostname or FQDN to know if there might be a DNS issue
    • Download the latest RDP client app from Microsoft Store
    • Ensure that both the server and the client have installed the latest Windows Updates
