Why some KBs for download are not synchronized by WSUS server

Hi everyone!

Good day!

I am preparing a security patch installer for Windows 10 version 1809(LTSC) for the first time.

For the month of February 2022, KB5010351 was supposedly automatically synchronized for download with our WSUS server. However, this was not included in the updates list for approval and download. Synchronization was performed successfully without any error.

In the support webpage of KB5010351, it should automatically synced with WSUS if in "Products and Classifications" options are configured as following:

Product: Windows 10
Classification: Security Updates

Our WSUS "Products and Classifications" options is configured as shown below.

<Products>

  1. Windows 10, version 1809 and later, Servicing drivers
  2. Windows 10, version 1809 and later, Upgrade & Servicing drivers
  3. Windows 10

<Classifications>

  1. Critical Updates
  2. Definition Updates
  3. Security Updates
  4. Service Packs

I am aware that KB5010351 can be manually downloaded using MS Update Catalog. But KB5010351 should be synced automatically using WSUS.

Do you have any idea what's causing our WSUS server to not sync the KB5010351?

I've searched several topics regarding WSUS not syncing properly, but I have not found any concrete solution to this problem.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Best regards,

    The reason is because you are using the older build.
    As workaround, you should deploy using update catalogue but consider upgrading to newest build so your WSUS will completely sync everything.
    To resolve this issue try upgrade to the latest build and it should work as expected.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.

    I was able to synchronize all Windows 10 version 1809 by selecting only Windows 10 LTSB in Option->Products settings.

    Then I unchecked the following:

    1. Windows 10, version 1809 and later, Servicing drivers
    2. Windows 10, version 1809 and later, Upgrade & Servicing drivers
    3. Windows 10

    Regards,
