Can I use query hint maxdop for insert, update and delete statement

How about for update and delete statement ?

Update and delete statement are all like insert statement.

That means you can use query hint maxdop in insert, update and delete as long there is select statement and the maxdop only for that select statement and not for the statement insert ,update and delete. Please clarify on this

example:

INSERT INTO sales.addresses (street, city, state, zip_code) - not using maxdop 4
SELECT - using maxdop 4
street,
city,
state,
zip_code
FROM
sales.customers
ORDER BY
first_name,
last_name;
OPTION (maxdop 4)
