Hi, I had a MySQL server on my old computer which I need to backup so I can use the same database on my new computer. I have backed up the computer and have everything from the Windows(C:) drive ($WinREAgent, Program Files etc). Basically to export the old database to my new computer I need to run MySQL from this backup, dump the database, and then install the dump to a MySQL server on my new computer. So I was curious if anyone knew if this could be done, and if so, then does anyone have any guides for this? I'm a novice at this and this will be my first time using a virtual machine. Many thanks

Thanks, this looks really useful for transferring the MySQL server, but I was actually more curious how I might boot the backup in a virtual machine. Do you know anything about that? Many thanks
