Hello,

So, we converted a mail-enabled Public-folder to shared mailbox by following the following steps:

1- created a shared mailbox with some random SMTP Address
2-mail disabled the public folder
3 waited for the replication to take place
4 changed the SMPT address of the Shared mailbox to that of the Public folder's

Now, on our Exchange on premise the proxy addresses are showing correctly but on Exchnage online it's show some of the old proxy addresses of the shared mailbox.

I was wondering if there's some sort of a documentation on how to go about converting a mail enabled public folder to a shared mailbox for exchange hybrid.

Also, if someone could guide on the right direction on how to go about fixing the proxy addresses to reflect what's on our Exchange on premises.

Thanks.

What you are seeing is normal and expected. As long as you have the proxy addresses you need added and the primary SMTP address you need and the UPN of that shared mailbox set to match the primary SMTP address, you are good to go and you can ignore those original proxy addresses that are still set on the object in Azure.

Its all based on the original MOERA and is really just a cosmetic thing. It doesnt affect the functionality of the shared mailbox.

Its essentially this: ( even though you didnt assign an Exchange license)
