CLSIDFromProgID failed as admin user

CLSIDFromProgID failed as admin user.
But it's working as normal user.
Why?

After reading this thread, I still don't know what to do.
The given progid is now Excel.Application.16.
So how should I configure it in the registry?

It would be unusual for a Microsoft Office application like Excel to be registered per-user instead of per-machine.

Have you tried with the ProgId Excel.Application?

You can also use the registry editor to look for the ProgId in HKLM\Software\Classes which is where a per-machine registration would be written.

The UAC is enable. And I expect to run the exe as an administrator(High Privileges).

Add the exe file path of the application, modify the parameters, and set the data value RUNASADMIN

As @Castorix31 's thread say, CLSIDFromProgID() is not working as administrator. It mentioned the need to configure COM objects for the registry. But I don't know how to do.

Look at this simple code:

Runing in the normal terminal:

Runing in the admin terminal(selected Run as Administrator):

Obviously,it returned non-zero on my computer while running as administrator.

Confusing!!! Haha.

I have tested your code on Windows 10 and 11, x86 and X64 with success using user and administrator.

I have also tested the code on Windows 7. And it's ok. It only return non-zero on my computer. So sad....
So Is there a problem with my registry? Do you know what the problem is?

If you want to run the code as administrator, try registering as an admin and accessing as an admin

Give it a try, since I can't reproduce your problem on my computer, so this is just a guess based on Windows registry.
