SERVER 2016 newly created RDS users desktop windows button and search button not working?
I have Windows Server 2016 working as a file server with QB and Dispatch software aside from the File Server Role it also has RDS installed. IT has worked fine for several years adding and removing users without a problem until a few days ago we hired two new employees and added them to the as a standard user like everyone else same settings no changes. but to my surprise, it first started with. 1. when logging via RDS for the first time (just like everyone else previously created) it would ask for his credentials then it would appear to be logging in but in a split of a second, he would get kicked out. same with the second new user. 2. I've tried just about everything but nothing worked, I used an existing RDS account and it worked fine the same for all the previous existing accounts. We have plenty of RDS licenses per seat so that wasn't the problem. I've checked all the GPO all are still the same nothing changed. 3. I've decided to elevate the credentials to the power user, not the admin and yes, it did let me log in with the new account but, the same like in these threads the Start Button (windows button) and the search Icon don't work. 4. I finished creating these two accounts both giving them Power User elevation. Just thinking of it it's kinda neat that they can't access the programs menu. but, at the same time, it doesn't solve the problem. I cannot find a solutions nothing works ever using different RDS apps, suggestions from here, looking at all the policies, permissions, etc.. there is still no solution even calling Microsoft support at first level these people have no idea. PEOPLE IF WE CAN FIND THE SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM I'M SURE THAT A FEW OF US WOULD BE VERY GREAT FULL IS JUST MIND-BOGGING.
