I'm using MC text files for generating events to the event viewer,
and I have a short question:
Is it possible to send an xml data structure using the MC?
Will appreciate any help!!

I don't mean for a message parameters but for the data in the Details tab.
First we open the eventlog with RegisterEventSource(). The resulting HANDLE can then be used in ReportEvent() to add an entry to the event log.
Message Compiler is used to compile instrumentation manifests and message text files. What do you mean "send the data in the Details tab using the MC"?

I did it, but by using the ReportEvent() function I cant send an xml data that will appear in the Details tab in the event viewer. The ReportEvent() only supports with simple strings and binary data.

According to the Doc: Event Sources
If the application calls RegisterEventSource and passes a source name that cannot be found in the registry, the event-logging service uses the Application log by default. However, because there are no message files, the Event Viewer cannot map any event identifiers or event categories to a description string, and will display an error. For this reason, you should add a unique event source to the registry for your application and specify a message file.
