changing outlook password

Question

I want to change my outlook password. when I go to my account and hit the "change password" button it give me a "Approve sign in request" and says I need to approve a sign in request on Authenticator. I have Authenticator on my phone for my work account but no request ever appears. I suspect I am suppose to have a personal account added to Authenticator, but when I try to do that it says I have to approve a sign in request which I never get. It seems Im caught in a "catch 22" what do I do. I just want to change my bloody password.
