How to Configure Distributed File System? Does DFS replication servers have to be the same version as the main DFS server?

Hi,

DFS Replication does not require the servers to have the same version as other DFS servers.

Also note that DFS Namespace is a different role than DFS Replication, they are separate roles that are not dependent of each other.

As Leon said ,DFS Replication does not require the servers to have the same version as other DFS servers.
Please note that all servers in a DFS replication group must be located in the same Active Directory forest. You cannot enable replication across servers in different AD forests.
