How to change date format in excel from DD/MM/YYYY to YYYY-MM-DD?

I am trying to change date format from DD/MM/YYYY to YYYY-MM-DD. I tried =text formula, which did not worked, I tried changing the format of the cell by going to Custom and manualy typing the format, it didn't worked either and I also tried =right formula which did not helped me also. Can someone help me to get the date format changed from DD/MM/YYYY to YYYY-MM-DD in Microsoft Excel 2013

    Hi, @Faisal Memon
    According to your description, your date may be in text format.
    It is recommended to use the DATEVALUE function to convert the date to an Excel serial number first, and then customize the cell format to YYYY-MM-DD

    Hi @Ceasar Chen_MSFT . I found a solution for the above problem I was facing. Upon checking I found that there was a space entered before the date due to which the format of that cell was not changing to any format with all the steps we were using. I removed that additional space and then changed the format and it accepted the format from Format Cells box itself easily. Hope this will also help you.
