Use SSIS 2016 with SQL Server 2019 licence

Hello,

Our current SSIS projects are setup for SQL Server 2016. When we use them with SSIS 2019 we hit performance issues due that there is an implicit compilation that happens when executing our packages.

The best solution would be to migrate them to 2019 but in short term we have to support 2016 and don't want to maintain multiple versions.

Is it possible to install SQL Server 2019 (SSAS, SSBD, SSRS) and SSIS (2016) on the same server if I own only a SQL Server 2019 licence.

Thank you

You can buy SQL Server 2019 license and have installed a previous version, specially when you are upgrading to the newer version by components (SSIS, Data Warehouse, SSIS), on what is called a side-by-side migration.

In addition, for detailed information about the license issue, you can consult professionals in this area calling 1-800-426-9400, Monday through Friday, 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. (Pacific Time).
