Hello I am trying to compare the size of data it takes to share an Azure Spatial anchor and compare it to a full SLAM map. Is there any information or documentation describing the data size of a single spatial anchor?

    Hello @Frank R

Can you please add additional details about the use cases you are looking for? or is it generic to comparing on a SLAM map?

How many anchors at one time do you anticipate needing to download from the service to the local device? Do you mean to measure the Data packets during the anchor sharing process?

What information about an environment is transmitted and stored on the service when using Azure Spatial Anchors? Are pictures of the environment transmitted and stored?

Note: These numbers are just approximate on internal testing, not yet published on official documentation, please keep following the official documentation for the actual number!!!

Saving an anchor on HoloLens can take up to ~2.5 MBs, on mobile can take up to ~0.75 MB. Queries are typically much smaller generally ranging from 15KBs to a few hundred. The query size in the worst case could go up to the same as saving anchors but that should be rarer.
