This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
Microsoft updated my laptop a few weeks ago and afterword I was unable to unlock my computer. I had to take it to a local tech store to get it unlocked. When I got it back, each time I signed on, Microsoft opened under a different user. Also now I cannot open any of my Office files (the icons are there but they wont open) and Microsoft Paint will not function. Can you help me.

Hi,
Did you associate Microsoft account with your computer?
I noticed you said you can't unlock your computer, would you describe what screen occur when you try to unlock computer? Bitlocker recovery key requirement screen or others?
As some device will automatically enable Bitlocker if you meet hardware requirement and associate computer with Microsoft account. So when computer prompt for Bitlocker recovery key, we could go to Sign in to your Microsoft account.
If tech store used another user account to login your system but not delete that account, your computer will show login screen for that account. We could search for "lusrmgr.msc" in Windows Search box and open console, then open "Users" to check if any other user account located here. If yes, delete it with your account which have administrator privilege.
For paint issue, would you describe with more details? Does the issue occur when open it as administrator?
For office issue, I would recommend to create a new thread with this product and mark it as office tag, so that you could get a specific support on this product, also it would be more easy to follow up your thread.
Bests,
