Hello Everyone,

I have a question related to Remote Desktop Services. Recently we have built one Remote Desktop License server (Installed RD License and Session Host services only on W2k16 Standard edition) and activated with device CALs.
We have multiple servers where multiple users want to connect simultaneously (Around 15 sessions) via RDP session.
I want to connect my servers with newly built RDS server to take the license and allow concurrent RDP user sessions.
I have configured the local group policy on servers as well to define the RDS License server, but servers are not able to take license and still only 2 users can connect simultaneously.
Can anyone guide me, where is the issue in configuration or any suggestion to fix this issue?

    HI

    1. Could you please provide more details about your RDS environment?did you install RDLicense role and RDsession host role on the same vm ?
If you want to allow more than 2 simultaneously sessions, RDS deployment with appropriate RDS CALs installed is necessary.

2.Besides License server and Session Host, what other server roles have you built?

3.Appropriate RDS CALs should be purchased and installed ,did you install w2016 rds per user cal or per device cal on RD licensing server ?
are both RDSession host server and RD licensing server in the same AD domain ?

Each user and device that connects to a Remote Desktop Session host needs a client access license (CAL).

There are two types of RDS CALs: Per Device CALs and Per User CALs. Please make sure you purchased the right type of CALs.

And your RDS CAL must be installed on a compatible RD license server and RD Session Host versions .

Here is a link explains RDS CAL:
