Hi all,

I am getting the following issue on a client's server and need assistance as to how to get it sorted out. Server is running Windows Server 2012R2 and all latest updates applied (server is domain controlled)

When accessing a website via IE11 on the server, I am immediately prompted with the download function:
174926-image.png
as well as the following error when closing the screen:
174927-image.png
When accessing the Services tool (both as Domain Admin account and local server Administrator) the server will open multiple IE sessions, each with the same RunDLL error.

Please I am desperate for assistance as I am unable to access the proxy information on the server, nor am I able to access the services.

    Hi @Nick Trichardt

This issue might occur due to any recent changes on the system that might have corrupted the Internet Explorer settings or due to any virus infections.
My first suggestion would be to open Internet Explorer from the original location and check if the same issue persists.
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer, double click on iexplorer.exe
If the issue doesn’t exist then right-click on iexplorer.exe and send to, desktop, and create a shortcut.

You can also Repair Internet Explorer in Windows by following the steps from this article.

    Hope this resolves your Query!!

    Hi.
I appreciate the feedback. I did try all options with the exception of the uninstall and re-install of IE11. I am still unable to access anything that remotely needs access to inetcpl.cpl. This includes the services.msc, internet options, proxy settings, websites (via IE), etc
