Upgrade to W11 is blocked with message "Devices with IE as primary browser" during upgrade

Question

Hi all,
my device is fully acknowledge by WindowsHealth incl. TPM 2.0 device. WUS has shown until YE 2021 that the upgrade is coming soon. Since the first update in the 2022 theW11 offering has disappeared. Answers to my post were not helpful.

Trying an offline installation with the Installation Assistant made the download but stopped with the message "Devices with IE as primary browser". Unfortunately all users in my device have Edge or Firefox as the default browser. Even removing IE from the device with Programs and Features did not help.

Attached pls. find a text file with the part of the APPRAISAL protocol containing the error message.

My questions:

• What does this message mean?
• How can I remove this block?

Hello @Jörg Debus

Even if you use everyday Edge or toher browser, IE may be still set as default browser in the system or to open specific file. Please use the next guide to set default to Edge bwoser.

Additionally there are 3rd Party tools or browser extensions that may simulate as IE is still default browser.

Please try the next:

• Disable Edge browser Extensions temporary
