No Database Tab /Reverse Engineering in MS Visio Professional 2019

Hi All,

in my MS Visio Professional 2019 distribution I cannot find the database tab for reverse engineering. I need to say that due to our company GOP all online templates are disabled. But when I open a downloaded template form the Microsoft site, the database tab is not visible either. What can I do?

Hi @Sanna, Markus ,
I tested and checked your problem and I found you cannot download this template online, this is a paid feature in Visio.
And the template link you provided is the way to download free temaples.
I also suggest you check if you can use the template in Excel, Word or other Office applications.
If you cannot use templat in all Office applications, I suggest you provide the 2 polices to Administrator:

Did you install other Visio version previously？
What template did you download? I suggest you provide the link here.
Then I suggest you go to File- Account and provide the detail information about the Visio, you can post the screenshot here:

first of all, thanks lot for your help.
So my Excel /Word/Powerpoint... account looks like this:

But my Visio account looks like this:

Seems that My Visio is not part of the O365 familiy.

What I want to have is the database reverse engineering feature of Visio Prof., which is placed in the 'Database tab'. This tab isn't shown in my MS Visio distribution.
So after googling I found this post:
visio-2010-professional-no-database-tab
Which instructed to open a new database template file, then the database tab would usually appear. But due to the GOP of my company, the 'Open Template' menue looks like this:

So that means in our company whenever we want to use an online MS Office template we need to download the templates form this site:

But when I download and open a database template like this:

The database tab isn't shown up either.

thanks a lot! The registry entries did the trick. I could create a database template with reverse engineering function.

I have now a database template which I can reuse.
Whenever I open that template the database tab is enabled.
