Drag & Drop Outlook email to Modern SharePoint list

In the classic view of SharePoint Online, I can drag and drop an email from Outlook directly onto a SharePoint list item and it becomes an attachment. In the Modern view of the same list, the email will not attach and the only way seems to be clicking on the add attachment button and trying to navigate to an email that has been saved; which is too many confusing steps.

Is there a way to still drag and drop an email from Outlook onto a SharePoint Online list item in the Modern view that we are just missing? or has that capability been lost. It is very hard to push adoption of modern SharePoint then the tools that make work easy are not available anymore.

I understand this process can be done with add ins and additional software, but that is not an option for us. We also don't want to run a flow and collect everyone's email in a list to be picked through to attach certain emails to certain list items.

Thank you in advance for advice and guidance.
