As the thread title, I have an Intel 8700k with ssd.
To scan (open program):
Version - 14.09, 120s
Version - 13.5, 5s
To close:
Version - 14.09, >120s
Version - 13.5, <1s
Any ideas why this maybe the case?

The same has been happening since a few days now over here too but I've been on 14.09 for ages.
And it's even longer, after 10 mins the scan has not completed yet while there is no real activity on my system.
The console version is just as slow...

Disable "Verify code signatures" in the scan options.
The 14.x UI is slower in general compared to 13.x, it starts slower, redraws slower, scans slower.
Verifying the signatures is just blowing out the scanning even further compared to 13.x
