Hi,

Need to clarify whether additional SQL 2017 license is required when SSRS is installed on a different server machine (application server) rather than database server (SQL 2017 standard edition license).

Background -

This is for three tier .NET web application which has Web server, App server (plan to leverage app server for SSRS, Reporting server as well), Database (DB) server has SQL 2017 standard edition license.

Query - In this scenario, do we require additional SQL 2017 license for SSRS on application server OR
can we leverage SQL 2017 standard edition license available on database server with some SQL server key setup/configuration ?

Thanks & Regards,
Dipti

    Hi @Dipti F ,
With one SQL Server license you are allowed to install all components on one machine.
If you need to install the SSRS components on another machine, you will need an additional license.
    Best Regards,
