Windows 11 hardware requirements

Hi,

Some questions regarding requirement for Windows 11.

  1. If my computer supports TPM 1.2 can I software upgrade to TPM 2.0 or is this hardware related ?
  2. I have several Windows 10 machines running on VMware ESXi, when I right click to add hardware within the ESXi I am not able to add TPM module. I have read that you can add vTPM, is vTPM supported on Windows 11 ? Or Do I have to populate my ESXi hosts with a TPM 2.0 chip ?

    1. No, the TPM is chipset component and you have to upgrade the hardware. In some minor cases, Windows might not detect the correct version which will be solved by the firmware upgrade but you have to verify you are using TPM 2.0 chipset (hardware).
    2. VMware is not Microsoft product , they shared an article explaining how to install the Windows 11 on the VMware, take a look at:
