Running Multiple RDP Connections from a Windows11 Workstation-Cannot Restore After Minimizing

When the active RDP connection is minimized and I attempt to restore another, all of the RDP connections seem to get "stuck" in the menu bar. The only way to restore any of them is to reconnect. In Windows 10, after an active RDP connection is minimized, restoring another works by simply hovering the mouse over the RDP icon in the menu bar and select whichever one you want to work with.

This only seems to be an issue when minimizing from full screen. Is this a Win11 bug or is there a setting that I've missed?

    Hello @Trent

I would recommend to set the next registry setting in order to ensure that the machine is running RDP in the background and prevent disconnections for Idle times:

Executing Tasks in a Minimized RDP Window

    1. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server Client\
    2. Create a new DWORD value
    3. Name it RemoteDesktop_SuppressWhenMinimized
    4. Type in 2 as the value data.

Hope this helps with your query,
