Hi All,

I hope someone is able to help and offer some advice.

I have a File Migration project ongoing for 6 months. I have begun the data copy and am now in the position where the data is being kept aligned on both the legacy and Source Servers.

My question is regarding switching off the network shares on the Legacy server when Source is live. I think we are going with an approach where all shares get switched in one go - therefor I will need to stop share access to the Legacy server for 1,000 plus users.

I am not sure how to accomplish this. Any help and advice would be extremely helpful.

Regards.

    Hello @czql5v

If the data is stored on a virtual machine or physical machine and you have a data disk seperate from the operating system disk. You could just mount the data disk to the new file server such that you reduce on the copying time for the changes. And also you can shutdown the legacy system and assign its ip address to the new system.
