Outlook App can't open Shared Mailbox but Outlook.com works just fine

I see a similar question was asked before and the user fixed with clearning the cache etc, but that hasn't worked for me.

We have a hybrid exchange installation, create groups and users on prem and gets moved to the cloud.

We use a lot of shared mailboxes and have not had this issue before.

I created with my normal process but when mounting the mailbox it says the folders are not accessible, both for myself and this other user. Both using O365 for Enterprises. But outlook.com works just fine so no issue with rights or anything.

I've tried cache on and off, deleting the ost, force quiting outlook, all to no avail.

Anyone have an idea?

Thanks
David

    When you say you are mounting the mailbox, how exactly are you doing this?

    If you give full access, it gets auto-mapped automatically and should show up automatically in Outlook in the folder view.

    My fix for these issues is often to just remove the full access, wait a few minutes and re-add it.

    @David Kafrissen

    Whether those shared mailboxes are also migrated to Exchange online? I test it in my lab, after adding permission, I wait about 30 minutes before this shared mailbox shows in Outlook (Run in Online mode). So, I would suggest you switch Outlook to Online mode, then wait for a while to sync.

    You can also add an Exchange online created shared mailbox to compare, check whether this Exchange online created shared mailbox could show in Outlook.

    If this Exchange online created shared mailbox has shown in Outlook, but the migrated shared mailbox still not show up. You could try to configure it as a separate account:

    Use the Shared mailbox email address to configure Outlook profile:

    About the Account and Password, you need to use the credential which has full access permission to this shared mailbox:

    In this way, you could configure shared mailbox in Outlook without wait.
