We are recently onboarded into Azure, want to deploy a VM with

  • Windows Server 2019 or 2022.
  • With SQL Server 2016 or 2019.

We do have licenses available for both OS and SQL. So in order to use those licenses in Azure - what approach I should use.

Thank You
Vijay

Do you have software assurance agreements for your existing licenses? If not, then you will not be able to use your existing licenses.

For the images, you can use whichever option you prefer. If you have entitlement to use your existing licenses then you can use the marketplace images and just enable Azure Hybrid Use Benefits for Windows Server and for SQL Server.

    Thanks for insight Alan.

So how can I verify Software Assurance is applied and approved for the subscription I am using. Do I need to verify this with support !

So lets say Once I verified and assurance is approved for my subscription. Can I use below template from Azure market place and apply own licenses for both OS and SQL ?
