Hi All,

I have multiple 2016 RDS servers that are having an issue where only a couple of users are getting a large white bar at top of a maximized application/window (Chrome & Explorer are both effected).

I originally posted a question on these forums over two years ago and did not get a solution, so I am trying again!

Setting the following registry key via Group Policy did fix the issue for some users but there are others on the same terminal server which are still affected.

If anyone can please provide me with help regarding this issue that would be great. Thanks :)

Thanks - Chris

    Hello @AB501UT!0N

The procedure is very straight forward and should apply to your clients equally. In this scenario, I would recommend to focus in the GPO applying into the computers and if they are receiving correctly both the policy and it applies successfully the change.

The reasons can be different, but usually there are some permissions or security softwares that may prevent both the policy or the registry change.

There is also a very good guide provided by a community expert in case you want to review the GPO creation process, at: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/483000/regedit-gpo-does-not-apply-but-it-is-downloaded-by.html

Hope this helps with your query,

    Hi LimitlessTechology,

I don't have any issues with the Group Policy applying but rather with the white bar issue that randomly happens for some users on a Windows 2016 RDS server.

The reason I mentioned the Group Policy fix, is because it seems to stop the white bar issue happening for some staff members but not others, even though it is applying correctly for all users of the RDS server.

So in summary, I want to know if Microsoft has released a permanent fix for the white bar issue, so the users of the RDS server don't have to keep logging on and off to get rid of the white bar issue.

    Thanks - Chris
