Hello Teams Community,

Please i need your help on this.

We have deployed teams machine-wide MSI installer version 1.5.00.2164 which when closing the Teams main window it minimizes it to the system tray, but when trying to maximize it again by double-clicking the tray icon the app crashes.

just to clarify, the Teams app opens successfully when clicking on the icon or from the start menu but when maximising it from the system tray when Teams is already running it then crashes.

    Hi @IBN

Does anyone else have the same problem in your organization?

According to your description, it seems you are using Windows Installer to bulk install Teams

If this problem only happened in specific users, it recommends you try to uninstall Teams and redeploy Teams for this user on a particular computer:

    • Uninstall the Teams app installed for every user profile. For more information, see Uninstall Microsoft Teams.
    • Delete the directory recursively under %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Teams\ for each user profile.
    • Delete the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Teams\PreventInstallationFromMsi registry value for each user profile.
    • Redeploy the MSI file to that particular computer.
