authenticator app will not add work

Using android phone. I uninstalled and reinstalled the authenticator app and message "unable to add the account (work). We couldn't add the account. Please verfiy the activation cod is correct and push notifications are enable on your device for this app.

I work with my IT department and couldn't find any problems with my account. I need to help ASAP.
