how can we change the root site url?

Hi,

is there a way we could rename the sharepoint online root site url? lets say our current landing page url is https://abc0.sharepoint.com/sites/home. how can we change this url to https://portal.abc.com?

    No, you can't change the tenant URL. You also cannot use anything but *.sharepoint.com. You could set up a web server/service that redirects https://portal.abc.com to https://abc0.sharepoint.com/sites/home, if you wanted.

    Just like Trevor said, you can only change the site URL from https://abc0.sharepoint.com/sites/home to https://abc0.sharepoint.com/sites/newName. In SharePoint Online, it is always https://<tenant>.sharepoint.com/site/siteName
