PowerPoint 2016 Mac - Video autoplay and audio when presenting online or via Teams

Question

I'm presenting a deck with a looping background video (AND mp3 through Teams.

After finally struggling to get a background video to start automatically, here are my problems;

1. If I present via upload to Teams (file), I get audio (separate MP3 file), but no video (shows static image
2. If I present from the online version, I get audio (separate MP3 file), but no video (shows static image)
3. If I present my screen, I get audio AND the video plays - but the audience won't hear anything

Why won't the video autoplay via online or through teams, but works perfectly from a local file?

edit I tried the original .mp4 and converted .mov file - same results across the board.

Does this issue only happen on Mac device?

Does this issue persist all the time?

Does anyone else have the same issue?

When you share the PowerPoint file, please note to turn on the “Include system audio” as below:

In addition, make sure that your Teams client is the latest version.
