How many versions of a document is saved in Preservation hold library (Sharepoint, Teams and Onedrive retention policy)

Hello

I set up a retention policy in compliance center.
Scope includes Sharepoint, Teams and Onedrive.

I see files are being saved in Preservation hold library.

My question is, how many versions of a document are saved by retention policy.

    All of them. As quoted from https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/compliance/retention-policies-sharepoint?view=o365-worldwide#how-retention-works-with-document-versions

    For items that are subject to a retention policy (or an eDiscovery hold), the versioning limits for the document library are ignored until the retention period of the document is reached (or the eDiscovery hold is released).

    Agree with michev, and you could change version settings in library settings.
