Hi Team

My Network had an issue and I had to do a Network Reset to fix it. After this, My Hyper-V has stopped working . Virtual Switch Manager No Longer opens and Network Sections and Firmware Sections show as failed.

What I have tried

1 . Uninstall and Install HyperV

  1. Remove and Re-add as Admin in Hyper-V Admin Group
  2. Reset Network Multiple Times
  3. Remove and Install Hyper-V from PowerShell

What Else can be done ( Except Refreshing the PC) ?

    Hi,

Please open event viewer, check "System" and "Application" and "Applications and Services Logs>Microsoft>Windows>Hyper V VMMS", check if there's any related logs, the logs may provide some clues.

    Thanks for your time!

    Hi Vaibhav,

It looks like after your network reset Windows flushed out all your hyper-v settings associated with your network adapter.

    1. Go to System > Device Manager > Network Adapters and Uninstall all your network adapters. Then click on Scan for Hardware Changes so Windows can reinstall the drivers.
    2. Open an elevated Powershell command prompt, and enter the following:

    Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Microsoft-Hyper-V -All

    1. Restart your PC.

Let me know if this fixes your issue.

    Regards,
    Jeffrey Ulatan

    @Jeffrey Ulatan, HMS/HBS

Thanks for your Response. I have tried the Above to Uninstall and Install twice . This doesnt seem to work .

    Something else is broken .

Is there some Diagnostic Tool for this . How would we fix it if it would have happened on a Server Edition ?

Something else we can try ?

    Hi,

Please run the following command to repair Windows 10.

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

After then, try to re-install Hyper V again, check if it could work.

If the above method still not work, it's better to open a case with MS to collect logs for deep troubleshooting. Or you may try to re-install the OS to have a quick fix.

Below is the link to open a case with MS:
